The long-range scanning wind lidar works on the optical heterodyne detection principle. It mixes atmospheric echo signals with local oscillator laser, extracts the Doppler shift of aerosols or molecules to calculate group velocity, and therefore realizes atmospheric wind field measurement. It features high wind measurement precision and excellent detection performance under clear sky conditions.
Benefiting from high spatiotemporal resolution, fast data transmission speed as well as safe and reliable operation, the lidar is applicable to atmospheric science, environmental meteorology, marine atmosphere, wind energy monitoring and other fields, and can be equipped on ships or buoy platforms.
