Jiangsu Provincial Urban Football League Festival Showdown Faces an "Invisible Foe": Two Short-Range Wind Lidars of Dashun Laser Deployed in Network Observation to Safeguard Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Stadium

On June 20, the 10th round of the 2026 Jiangsu Provincial City Football League kicked off at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, where Nanjing Team hosted Huai'an Team. Coinciding with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday as well as auto shows, concerts and other events, the area around the stadium saw a massive surge of pedestrian and vehicle traffic that evening. Football matches are highly susceptible to wind conditions: cross winds alter passing trajectories, gusts increase players' physical exertion, and strong winds pose risks to grandstand facilities and live broadcast equipment. Complex turbulence and wind shear are generated around the stadium by buildings, spectator stands, lighting towers and other structures, making average wind speed readings far from sufficient for accurate assessment.
